Human rights debate held at PCR Kashmir
Srinagar: Kashmir Police today organized a debate on the topic “Respect for Human Rights Contributes to professionalism in Police”. The debate competition was organized for creating the vibrant understanding of Human Rights perspective among the police officers. The participants from all the District of Kashmir Zone participated in this competition.
A statement issued by police said that the inaugural address at the debate competition was presented by DIG CKR V.K Birdi. He explained the importance of basic Human Rights and values and urged upon the participants to be mindful of such rights while performing their professional duties in the field. He emphasized that the respect for human rights should be reflected in the investigations carried out by the police officials.
Speakers at the event also expressed their thoughts about the human rights. Some of the participants emphasized upon the importance of Human Rights while some others expressed that police is unnecessarily targeted even though police is very much sensitive to the Human Rights while carrying out their professional duties.
Later on, prizes were also distributed among the speakers adjudged best at the event.
