Thousands throng Kreri on Bukhari’s Fateh

Baramulla: Thousands of people from different walks of life today visited the ancestral village of late Syed Shujaat Bukhari at Kreeri here to join the special prayers organized in connection with the Chaharum of the deceased journalist.

Former Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha Member Ghulam Nabi Azad, Centre’s interlocutor, Dineshwar Sharma, former Union Minister, Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz, State Ministers, legislators, members of judiciary, senior politicians, journalists, writers, representatives of various editor forums, lawyers, religious and civil society leaders, businessmen and representatives from other prominent sections of the society joined the special prayers for late Bukhari and expressed solidarity with the family.

Meanwhile, a condolence meeting was also organized by Jammu and Kashmir Adbi Markaz Kamraz under the chairmanship of the noted poet and litterateur Prof Rehman Rahi in connection with Rasm-e-Chaharum of Dr Syed Shujaat Bukhari at his native village Kreeri.

Paying rich tributes to Syed Shujaat Bukhari, the speakers highlighted his commendable role in journalistic and literary fields.
