Molvi arrested for hanging student upside down in Baramulla
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a “Molvi” for hanging a minor student upside down at a seminary in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
“Taking notice of a video clip circulated on social media wherein an 8-year boy is being seen hung upside down and physically assaulted by Molvi of a local Dasrgah, Police Station Baramulla has registered a Case FIR NO 86/2018 Under Sections of 342,323 RPC and24 Juvenile justice Act 2013,” a police statement said on Thursday.
The statement further said that the accused was identified as Molvi Mushtaq Ahmed Dar S/O Ghulam Ahmad Dar, R/O Batpora Tangmarg at present Iqbal Colony Baramulla, who was subsequently arrested.
“Further investigation into the matter is going on,” the statement added.
