Battling for life for 12 days, critically injured Kangan youth succumbed at SKIMS

Srinagar:A 27-year-old youth who was battling for life after getting critically injured during clashes with government forces at Kangan area of Ganderbal in central Kashmir on April 3 succumbed to his Injuries at Sher Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura on Sunday.

Slain youth identified as Amir Hamid Lone (22) son of Abdul Hamid Lone, a resident of Chattergul Kangan had sustained critically injuries in Kangan clashes which erupted soon after the news about the death of another youth Gowhar Ahmad Rather at SKIMS spread in the area.

Amir battled for life more than 12 days at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of SKIMS Soura had received injuries on his head during forces action at Kangan on April 3, he succumbed at SKIMS, Soura on Sunday.

Medical Superintendent SKIMS Dr Farooq Jan confirmed the death of Lone.

Sources said that Lone had received serious head injuries in forces action during clashes in Kangan.

Pall of gloom has descended on Chatergul village of Ganderbal after the news about death of Amir reached there.
